Juan Thornhill Trying to Recruit Teammate to Browns?
Free safety Juan Thornhill is getting ready to sign his new contract to be a member of the Cleveland Browns, but he doesn't necessarily want to be the only Kansas Chiefs player to make the swap to the Browns. Thornhill tweeted a suggestion to wide receiver Mecole Hardman that maybe he should join him with the Browns.
Thornhill and Hardman were both drafted by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Hardman was selected 56th overall followed by Thornhill going 63rd.
The Browns have been connected to Hardman leading up to free agency. It hasn't exactly been a secret that the Browns want more speed in that position group, making numerous attempts to find the right fit. Hardman certainly offers speed and could give Deshaun Watson another talented weapon.
Hardman has never been a truly featured weapon in the Chiefs offense, but he's electric with the ball in his hands. Unfortunately, he missed much of the 2022 season including the Super Bowl with a core injury that required surgery. As a result, he only had 297 yards receiving in a contract year.
Hardman's career high was 693 on 59 receptions in 2021. He hasn't quite popped yet, but he could be a good fit with everything the Browns already have in place in an offense that should be led by a resurgent Deshaun Watson.
If the money's right, Hardman could end up joining Thornhill in Cleveland. They have four Super Bowl rings between them and would upgrade the speed on the Browns.
