Browns new WR Elijah Moore Excited to Play with Deshaun Watson, Amari Cooper
Cleveland shook things up yesterday when they traded their second-round pick to the New York Jets for wide receiver Elijah Moore and a third-round pick. Moore was introduced to the media today where he talked about what's next, Deshaun Watson, and more.
"I'm super excited. I'm happy to be a Brown," Moore opened up with.
The 22-year-old wideout is now set to play with Deshaun Watson and Amari Cooper, a different scenery of teammates than he is used to. Sure Garrett Wilson is an excellent player, but you can't replace veteran leadership for a younger player.
"Being in the room with a vet, I'm just eager to pick his brain," Moore said of Cooper.
Now that Moore is in Cleveland, he's ready to leave New York behind, and that means the frustration he showed last year when he requested a trade.
"I'm going to put my best foot forward. I feel like I'm here for a reason. People go through things, you have to learn from it. I'm just going to do what I feel like I could have done last year."
Last year, Moore's playing time was inconsistent at best. He played in 16 games but made just nine starts. Moore totaled just 446 receiving yards, a decline from the 538 mark as a rookie.
Cleveland won't need a 1,000-yard season from Moore or anything like that, they'll just need a good, consistent playmaker out of the slot.
More noted that he's already speaking to quarterback Deshaun Watson, he said he's a believer in Watson and is excited to get to play with him.
"He is a legit QB. He has been doing some amazing things around the league. People believe in him and I believe in him. Happy to be one of his guys here."
