Nick Chubb named AFC Offensive Player of the Week
Cleveland Browns running back has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week after his 20 carry, 165 yard rushing performance against the Baltimore Ravens that included three touchdowns. Chubb's 88-yard touchdown run is the third longest in team history. His 92-yard touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons last year is the longest.
Chubb's three rushing touchdowns were the most in a game since Peyton Hillis in 2010, and each of them showed off a little bit of what Chubb can do. The first, he broke three tackles to get into the endzone, displaying his strength and balance. On his second, he showed patience and vision as he hesitated for a split second allowing Joel Bitonio to clear out a defender in front of him, getting him into the end zone. And on the third, he showed off his explosion and raw speed as he was untouched.
Chubb also caught a few passes in the game as the Browns have been finding more success in their screen game over recent weeks.
The first half, Chubb was able to wear down the Ravens defense before he proceeded to gouge it in the second, ultimately delivering the final blow with the long touchdown run. In their previous three games, it felt like Chubb was getting close to breaking a big run if he got just a little bit more help from his blocking and on Sunday, that came together, particularly from the team's tight ends who were able to make some key blocks on runs .
