Questions Surrounding Watson's Shoulder Mount
In a rare occurrence for any NFL team, the entire 53-man roster was on the field practicing for the Cleveland Browns on Friday. In a normal game week, fans and media covering the team would be elated, but questions about one particular player's health are getting ready to reach a boiling point.
Quarterback Deshaun Watson only threw a couple of passes during the open portion of practice with media present before going over to speak with the team's head athletic trainer, Joe Sheehan.
Watson has been resting his sore shoulder the entire week after he took a huge hit to the throwing shoulder during last Sunday's win against the Titans. It was a called quarterback run from out of shotgun that led to a nice gain inside the five yard line.
Watson lowered his shoulder into the defender to attempt to gain more yardage on the play. Critics could argue they didn't like the down and distance aspect of the call.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski will speak to the media immediately after practice ends but will certainly face many questions about Watson and his status for Sunday. The team will also issue its final injury report for the week and it just may list Watson as questionable.
It would be rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson to face the Ravens in a game that could have big implications for the AFC North, if Watson can't play. We will keep you posted on the injury report as well as any answers given by Stefanski.
