Rookie Safety Ronnie Hickman Heads to Locker Room
The Cleveland Browns undrafted rookie free agent safety Ronnie Hickman left the game in the second quarter and went to the medical tent. Hickman would later head to the locker room with trainers and it is now being reported that Hickman is being evaluated for a concussion.
Hickman was in the middle of a very impressive two game stretch. In last Friday's game against the Commanders he was able to intercept two passes and made some impressive tackles as well. Following that performance, buzz built throughout the week for him to make the team as the team's fourth safety.
Tonight Hickman picked up right where he left off by intercepting Eagles quarterback Marcus Mariotta on an overthrown pass.
Hickman certainly helped his case with another interception and seems to possess good range and could perhaps backup Juan Thornhill at the free safety spot. Earlier today I wrote about Hickman competing with D'Anthony Bell as one of four roster battles to watch tonight.
It is good news that fellow undrafted rookie Tanner McCallister returned to action after missing the past few weeks with an injury. We will await an update from the team for further information and keep you posted.
