After a heavy day of analysis, it appears that momentum may be building for the Browns to play their starters in what would be a final dress rehearsal in Kansas City.

It all began with the Cleveland Browns pregame radio show earlier today prior to the team's third preseason game against the Eagles. The team's radio broadcast team of Jim Donovan and Nathan Zegura made several references of the team likely playing the starters in Kansas City.

At one point they mentioned even unwrapping Nick Chubb for the only time during the preseason. Playing starters has always been a distinct possibility for the final preseason game. Head Coach Kevin Stefanski has played his starters for a half in the final game of the past two preseasons.

With the additional preseason game awarded to the Browns as a result of being chosen to play in the Hall of Fame game, it was unclear if Stefanski and the team would alter their typical preparation plans. Last week against Washington, a majority of starters played.

For the offense the starters played one series where they were able to move the ball inside the one yard line, but failed to punch it in. Starters on the defense played a varying amount of snaps with the exception of Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward.

The Browns did receive a bit of a scare when wide receiver Elijah Moore left the game with a rib injury. Later, it was announced that the X-rays were negative and that Moore would not miss any time.

During tonight's game, quarterback Deshaun Watson was interviewed by Aditi Kinkhabwala as part of the News5 broadcast. When asked about playing Watson said, " I would love to be out there." He then added, "I'm not sure how much exactly because I know Kevin doesn't want us to play the whole game, but get a little rhythm going for maybe a quarter against the Super Bowl champs and just to have that test, I think would be fun."

Watson completed all three of his pass attempts and rushed for 20 yards in his only series of the preseason. He has come under fire this week after reports of his performance during joint practices in Philadelphia were subpar as he was intercepted multiple times. He is probably chomping at the bit to get back out there and prove his play will be at an elite level.

Ultimately, all of these questions will be settled over the coming week. Please keep it locked here for the latest updates.
