The Browns Have Something With DTR
The national media love for Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson continues to pour in. This time it's Gilberto Manzano from Sports Illustrated and the MMQB. In Marzano's latest article, he weighs in with his thoughts, observations and overreactions to week 2 of the NFL preseason.
He starts off with an overreaction by saying "The Browns have something with rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson." Manzano then goes on to say that while he isn't sure exactly what the something is, he feels that it's way more than just being the team's third quarterback.
He believes that after stringing together three impressive performances in the preseason that Thompson-Robinson has done enough to beat out Josh Dobbs for the backup role to Deshaun Watson. Manzano said he was really impressed with the big time throws from the pocket, that he was able to make against the Eagles pass rush to receivers Cedrick Tillman and Austin Watkins Jr.
Manzano is just another, in what is becoming a long line of NFL analysts who have glowing things to say about our rookie quarterback out of UCLA. Be sure to check out his entire article in the link above.
For Browns fans, Saturday will hopefully be the last time we get to see Thompson-Robinson play this year as the fate of our season falls squarely on our $230M, franchise quarterback, Deshaun Watson. It is certainly great knowing that the cupboard is not bare behind him and we may be sitting on a future starter in the league with star potential.
