Waiver Wire Cuts of Interest for Browns

Waiver claims need to be made by noon and there are several interesting names available that could be of interest for the Browns.

The Cleveland Browns have made their final cuts and teams will have the opportunity to claim players who were cut that are subject to waivers. Any player who is a vested veteran, (meaning they have accrued four seasons of a minimum of six games played) aren't subject to claims and must agree to sign with a team.

Currently the Browns are sitting 12th in order of teams to put in claims. Teams will have until noon on Wednesday to put in waiver claims. Practice squads will begin forming on Wednesday afternoon and should be completed in short order.

 I have reviewed the cuts around the league and several caught my attention as possible fits for the Browns. While the potential of a claim isn't likely, these players could be on the radar for practice squad consideration.

RB- Trey Sermon - Eagles

In this scenario Sermon could be brought in as the fourth running back on our initial depth chart if he is claimed. 

CB- Darius Rush

Rush was a fifth-round pick in this past draft that the Browns seemed to be interested in. He is a big physical corner who can run. He could be worth a claim but someone ahead of the Browns are likely to grab him first.

TE - Zach Kuntz

Kuntz was drafted by the Jets and they are hoping that he can return to their practice squad. He posted insane testing number during the pre-draft process. I can't really see the Browns putting in a claim for a tight end who may need a year before making contributions on the field. I definitely think they would have an interest for their practice squad.

QB- Malik Cunningham

Cunningham impressed during the preseason in a duel threat role with New England. The Patriots want him back but I wonder if he and his agent would listen to a team that wants him solely as a quarterback. He would be the dream practice squad qb for the Browns as he can mimic playing like Lamar Jackson.
