Watch: Browns Make Stephen A. Smith's Top 5 List
What a difference a week makes when it comes to changing the narrative about the Cleveland Browns. Today on ESPN's First Take, host Stephen A. Smith was so impressed with the Browns week 1 performance that he listed them in his famous Stephen's A List. The list is comprised of his top five NFL teams after each week of the season.
In his first of the regular season, the always boisterous Smith listed the Browns at number four. Smith exclaimed, "BAAM, the Cleveland Browns, why-because the Cincinnati Bengals were in the AFC Championship game."
Smith was impressed with holding the talented Bengals offense to only three points. On offense he said Deshaun Watson still has 'a ways to go' but Nick Chubb is something special. He later added, "when you look at the Cleveland Browns, everybody been talking about Cincinnati and Baltimore, they even mentioned the Pittsburgh Steelers and not Cleveland."
Not everyone on the set was in agreement with Stephen A. though. Co-host Kimberley A. Martin had this to say about his rankings"I’ve gotta be honest, I was at the Browns-Bengals game, that 24-3, the Browns was not that impressive. The score completely lopsided but if you watched that game like I did, if you were paying attention Stephen, you would know that offense didn’t look good at all.”
