Watson, Moore and Ward Don't Practice, Others Make Return

For the Cleveland Browns, today marked the first time that they would practice as a 53-man roster. The team announced what players would initially makeup the 2023 Cleveland Browns about an hour before they would take the practice field in Berea.
As expected cornerback Denzel Ward was not at practice today as a result of being placed in the concussion protocol on Saturday. In news that we didn't expect, both Deshaun Watson and Elijah Moore were held out of practice for an illness.
In the best news of the day wide receiver Marquise Goodwin practiced for the first time since being diagnosed with blood clots. The plan is to ramp him up in time to play in the season opener against Cincinnati. In addition, tight end Harrison Bryant and running back Jerome Ford returned to practice for the first time in weeks.
Bryant has been out since August the 10th with an undisclosed medical issue. Ford made his return after suffering a hamstring injury in practice several weeks ago. Head Coach Kevin Stefanski said that he expects both to be ready for the week one matchup against the Bengals.
In other news, newly acquired running back Pierre Strong Jr. practiced for the first time as a Brown and will wear jersey number 20. He had a chance to speak briefly to the media and he said he is excited to get to work and the opportunity to run behind the Browns offensive line. Stay tuned tomorrow as the team may make a few player moves and start forming the practice squad.
