Where Does Joe Flacco Rank Among the Remaining Quarterbacks

The NFL Playoffs are here so let's rank the remaining quarterbacks before the ball is teed up on Saturday afternoon.
In this story:

Super Wild Card Weekend is maybe the best sports-watching weekend of the year. NFL fans get nonstop playoff football from Saturday through Monday.

This year, we don't have any pretenders in the playoffs. Every team that made their way in is worthy of their playoff position.

Our postseason coverage wouldn't be complete without a ranking of the 14 remaining quarterbacks, so let's dive into it.

14. Mason Rudolph

Rudolph has been fantastic for the Steelers in his three starts. In the three must-win games, he has thrown for 719 yards and three touchdowns. Most importantly, he is 3-0. We can't ignore the fact one of those games was against the 28th-ranked passing defense in Cincinnati and a bunch of backups in Baltimore. He is playing well, but he will have his hands full on Sunday in Buffalo.

13. Jalen Hurts

In normal circumstances, I'd have Jalen Hurts a little bit higher but after Thursday's news, Philly can't be feeling confident about where they are. Hurts told reporters on Thursday that he hasn't thrown a football all week after his finger injury. He hasn't been good over the past month as the Eagles limped into the playoffs.

12. Tua Tagovailoa

Tua has been reeling over the past month. Ever since Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle have been battling injuries it has changed the Dolphins' offense and has changed Tua. The Dolphins are staring down -30-degree temperatures in Kansas City and they can't feel good about the play of their quarterback.

11. Baker Mayfield

Baker has a little Jekyll and Hyde to him this season. He has had some ridiculous statlines this year but also a couple of headscratchers. He hasn't been playing his best football over the past couple of games but, as Browns fans know, he has it in him to will the Bucs to victory. We just don't know which Baker is going to show up.

10. CJ Stroud

Stroud has been a legit MVP candidate this season but battled injury late in the year. One aspect of Stroud's game that will be put to the test on Saturday is his ability to throw against man-to-man coverage. The Browns lead the league in playing man and will put the young rookie to the test in his first-ever playoff game.

9. Brock Purdy

I'm a Brock Purdy believer, but all things equal, do the 49ers win with Purdy or because of Brock Purdy. I think he does his job well, and being a Top-10 quarterback is nothing to scoff at. However, in this group of elite talent, Purdy comes in ninth.

8. Jordan Love

Love has been unbelievable for the Packers this year and specifically this month as he willed the Packers to the playoffs. He finished the year with 32 touchdowns to 11 interceptions and 4,159 yards. He has been great and could be enough to lead Green Bay to a couple of upsets.

7. Jared Goff

Goff has the weight of Detroit on his shoulders as he faces off against Matthew Stafford in what is setting up to be the best game of the weekend. He has been amazing this year and the former NFC Champion has his Lions ready to go make a run.

6. Matthew Stafford

The former Super Bowl Champion definitely found his youth late in this season and started playing some of his best football. Stafford was back to his old ways of dicing up defenses and being supremely accurate with the football. The Rams are frisky and are looking to end the Lions' hops right away.

5. Joe Flacco

Cleveland's guy Joe Flacco has been the story of the NFL season. Since joining the team in Week 13, he has taken the NFL by storm and turned Cleveland's static offense into one of the league's most explosive. Coupled with his playoff experience, Joe Flacco is a Top-5 quarterback in these playoffs.

4. Dak Prescott

Here we go.. What a year for Dak and the Cowboys. Sure they got some luck a couple of weeks ago but there is no denying that Prescott and Ceedee Lamb are the most electric duo in the league. Can Dak lead the 'Boys all the way? It sure feels like this is his best chance.

3. Josh Allen

Is there anyone more wild than Josh Allen? In a pseudo-playoff game last week in Miami, Allen was equally amazing and horrific all in the same game. You take the good with the bad because when it is good, it is so good. His play along with the Bills homefield advantage make Buffalo a tough out.

2. Patrick Mahomes

The Chiefs are different this year. Something is off with them as a whole but Mahomes is still Mahomes. You won't find me betting against the reigning Super Bowl Champion.

1. Lamar Jackson

There are not enough good things to say about Lamar. He has taken his game to a new level and is now impossible to stop. The AFC goes through Baltimore, is this the year that he can string together a couple of playoff wins? Only time will tell.

The action kicks off on Saturday for the race to the Lombardi. There are no cupcakes in this year's playoffs and we are gearing up for what is looking to be an all-time NFL Playoff.
