Buccaneers Unveil Jersey Numbers For Seven Free Agent Additions
While the narrative has mainly focused on the number of players the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been able to keep with the franchise, they also added a handful of new faces to the roster leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft.
Safety Jordan Whitehead, offensive lineman Ben Bredeson, offensive lineman Sua Opeta, cornerback Bryce Hall, cornerback Tavierre Thomas, defensive end Eric Banks, and defensive end Lwal Uguak all agreed to deals with the Buccaneers over the last few months. Now, thanks to an update to Tampa Bay's online roster, fans know which jersey number each newcomer will wear this upcoming season.

Whitehead will continue to don the No. 3 that he wore for two years with the New York Jets. He previously wore No. 33 during his previous stint with the Buccaneers. Russell Gage held the digit last year before being released earlier this offseason.
Bredeson chose to stick with the same digits that he's had for most of his professional career. He wore No. 68 during the last three years with the New York Giants and will keep that number as he transitions to Tampa Bay. Bredeson was in No. 67 when Baltimore drafted him in 2020.
Opeta was issued multiple numbers while he was with the Eagles, including No. 71 and No. 78. He'll be sitting almost equally between the two digits with the Buccaneers as he takes on No. 76.
Hall is taking on a new number as he moves into No. 21 with the Buccaneers. He donned No. 37 while suiting up for the New York Jets over the last four years.
Thomas has worn a handful of numbers throughout his time with the Houston Texans (No. 2, No. 4, No. 37), Browns (No. 20, No. 27, No. 34), and Arizona Cardinals (No. 34) . He'll be sticking with a familiar digit as he takes on No. 37 in pewter and red.
Banks is a well-traveled player who has also suited up in various jersey numbers over the years for the Los Angeles Rams (No. 90), Los Angeles Chargers (No. 98), Detroit Lions (No. 94), and Arizona Cardinals (No. 96). He'll be trying out something new as he moves into No. 93.
Uguak will be looking to stick at the NFL level for the first time after winning the Canadian Football League's Grey Cup with the Montreal Alouettes last season. He wore No. 96 in Montreal but will take on No. 75 with the Buccaneers.
