Buccaneers vs. Lions FINAL: Detroit Beats Tampa Bay 31-23

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers face off against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field looking to continue their hot play on their revenge tour.

PREGAME:

How to Watch Buccaneers at Detroit Lions: Kickoff Time, TV Channel and Odds

FIRST QUARTER:

- Detroit wins the coin toss and decide to take the opening kickoff. Bucs will get the ball after half.

- Goff’s first pass falls incomplete to David Montgomery.

- Goff follows up with a 7 yard pass to Montgomery.

- Goff’s third down pass falls incomplete as lancet knocks the ball down at the line of scrimmage. Lions go three and out and will punt.

- Mayfield opens the game with an 8 yard pass to Rachaad White.

- White takes the handoff for 16 yards and a Bucs’ first down.

- Mayfield is sacked for a loss of 8 yards and it’ll be third and long.

- Baker’s pass is intended for Evans, it bounces off him and the ball is picked off by C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Lions will take over at the Tampa Bay 41.

- Holding on Kancey gives the Lions their first first down of the game.

- Goff finds Williams for a first down and the Bucs are called for a face mask on top of it. Lions in business at the Bucs’ 7 yard line.

- The ball is almost intercepted by Dean but he drops it. Third and goal Detroit.

- Montgomery is stuffed for a loss of one and Badgley comes on and converts the 23-yard FG. Detroit takes the lead 3-0.

- Rachaad White finds some room for a gain of 8 yards.

- Mayfield finds Evans for a gain 18 yards and a Bucs’ first down.

- Mayfield follows it up with a 23-yard pass to Trey Palmer.

- Mayfield is sacked for a loss of 9 yards by Branch.

- Edmonds comes in and finds 9 yards on the ground setting up a McLaughlin FG.

- McLaughlin’s 43-yard FG is good and the Bucs tie the game up at 3.

- Goff rushes it up the middle for a gain of 3 and a first down.

- Goff finds St. Brown for a gain of 8 yards.

- Goff finds St. Brown for a gain of 5 yards and a Lions’ first down.

- At the end of the first quarter the game is tied 3-3.

SECOND QUARTER:

- Goff finds LaPorta for a gain of 13 yards and a first down.

- Goff finds LaPorta again for a gain of 15 yards and another first down. Lions in the red zone.

- Goff finds Reynolds for a 9 yard touchdown and the Lions take the lead 10-3.

- Offensive pass interference takes away the pass from Mayfield to Edmonds and it will be third and long for the Bucs.

- Mayfield finds Edmonds for a gain of 14, just one yard short of the first down. Camarda comes on to punt.

- Goff finds LaPorta for a gain of 4 after his scramble for a Lions’ first down.

- Goff finds LaPorta again for 12 yards and a first down.

- Bucs get a stop on third down and the Lions will be forced to punt.

- Mayfield finds Evans for a first down and a gain of 23 yards.

- Mayfield finds White out of the backfield for a gain of 10 yards and a first down.

- Mayfield finds Otton for a gain of 15 yards and another first down.

- Mayfield’s pass to Godwin is incomplete and McLaughlin will come on for a FG attempt.

- McLaughlin’s 50-yard FG is no good. The Lions still lead 10-3 and will take over at their own 40.

- Kancey comes away with a sack on Goff for a loss of 5 yards. Detroit’s C Ragnow is injured on the play. Lions will punt.

 - White finds some space for a gain of 11 yards on the ground.

- Baker finds Palmer for a gain of 9 yards.

- Mayfield rushes the ball for 15 yards and a Bucs’ first down.

- Mayfield finds Evans for a gain of 27 yards and a first down.

- Mayfield finds Evans AGAIN for a gain of 30 yards down to the Detroit 1.

- Mayfield finds Otton for a 2-yard TD. Bucs tie the game at 10 right before halftime.

- Buccaneers-Lions will take a 10-10 tie into halftime.

THIRD QUARTER:

- Anthony Nelson is questionable to return with an elbow injury.

- Mayfield finds Godwin for a gain of 12 yards.

- Rachaad White finds some running room for a gain of 14 yards and a first down.

- Mayfield is sacked by Hutchinson for a loss of 9 yards. Bucs will punt the ball after a promising drive to open the second half.

- Lions’ LG Jackson is OUT for the remainder of the game.

- Goff finds Reynolds for a gain of 25 yards, but a chop block on Montgomery eliminates the play and pushes the Lions back. Third and long.

- Goff finds LaPorta on third down for a gain of 7 yards but is well short of the first and the Lions will be forced to punt.

- Nothing going for the Bucs, third and long.

- Mayfield looks for Evans deep and the ball is incomplete. Bucs will punt.

- Goff finds Brock Wright for a gain of 29 yards and a Detroit first down.

- Yaya Diaby is down on the field after a short first down pickup by the Lions.

- Goff finds St. Brown for a gain of 11 yards and another Lions’ first down.

- Goff looks for LaPorta on third and goal from the one and the pass is incomplete. Fourth down, Lions.

- Lions go for it on fourth and Reynolds runs it in from 1 yard out for a Detroit TD. Lions take the lead over the Bucs 17-10.

- Mayfield’s pass is incomplete, but a defensive holding on the Lions gives the Bucs a first down.

- Mayfield finds Otton for a gain of 9 yards and a Bucs’ first down.

- Mayfield finds Otton again for a gain of 13 yards and another first down.

- Mayfield finds Otton for the third straight time for a gain of 27 yards.

- Mayfield is almost sacked, but gets the ball away. It will be third and ten.

- Mayfield finds White for a 12-yard TD and they tie the game back up at 17.

- At the end of the third, the Bucs and Lions are tied at 17.

FOURTH QUARTER:

- Goff finds Gibbs for a gain of 12 yards and a first down.

- Goff follows it up with a pass to Reynolds for a gain of 18 yards.

- Gibbs rushes for a gain of 8 yards.

- Gibbs rushes for 31 yards and a touchdown. Lions quickly retake the lead 24-17.

- Mayfield finds White for a gain of 6 yards but he is short of the line to gain. Bucs will be forced to punt.

- Goff connects with Montgomery for a gain of 11 yards and a first down.

- Goff then finds Williams for a gain of 24 yards and another first down.

- Goff is sacked by David for a loss of 6 yards on 2nd down. Third and long incoming for Detroit.

- Goff finds St. Brown for a gain 16 yards and a Lions’ first down.

- Gibbs catches a pass from Goff for a gain of 20 and they are in the red zone.

- Amon-Ra St. Brown brings in the 9-yard TD from Goff to extend their lead. Lions lead 31-17.

- Mayfield is sacked for a four yard loss and its third and long.

- Mayfield’s third down pass is incomplete deep to Godwin, brings up fourth and long - likely will go for it.

- Baker’s fourth down pass is complete to Mike Evans for a gain of 24 yards and a Bucs’ first down.

- Mayfield finds Moore for a gain of 11 yards and another Bucs’ first down.

- He follows it up with a 17-yard pass to Godwin inside the Detroit 20.

- Mayfield finds Evans for a 16 yard TD and the Bucs cut into the lead and now will go for two.

- The conversion to Evans is no good and the Bucs trail 31-23.

- Goff finds St. Brown for a gain of 15 yards and a first down. Bucs down to 2 timeouts and the 2 minute warning.

- Montgomery rushes the ball for 11 yards and another first down.

- Jamel Dean is likely out for the rest of this game with a back injury.

- Goff’s third down pass is incomplete and the Lions will have to punt. The Bucs have a chance.

- Mayfield’s pass is intercepted by Detroit and the game will likely end there.

- Lions will kneel this one out.
