Antoine Winfield Jr. Believes Tom Brady Could Return to Buccaneers

Antoine Winfield Jr. and Richard Sherman sat down to discuss a variety of topics, but Tom Brady's potential return to the Buccaneers is the one that is grabbing all the headlines.
In this story:

It feels like as long as Tom Brady is still walking the earth, rumors about his possible return to football will continue to resurface.

The most recent ignition of this narrative cannot be blamed on the click-baiting, headline-chasing media, though. This time, it's one of Brady's former teammates with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who has re-introduced this never-ending storyline to our attention.

Appearing as a guest on The Richard Sherman Podcast, Bucs safety, Antoine Winfield Jr., offered some thoughts to his former teammate (Sherman) on the current status of his other former teammate (Brady).

It's important to note that the former teammate of Brady's who introduced this topic was not Antoine Winfield Jr., but the host of his own show, Richard Sherman.

"This is one of those questions you gotta ask", said Sherman. "There's still QB controversy and you know, Tom came back once, so you just can't never put it passed him at this point. What do you think the odds of him coming back are?"

Winfield's responded with, "You know what, when he first said he retired, I really thought that he was done. He surprised me when he came back. He might be like, I've had enough of a break, I'm trying to come back and play. I really don't know, to be honest with you."

Sherman went on to mention the fact that Brady's already come out of retirement once, before introducing the Buccaneers' angle of things, where he suggests that Tom could come back at the end of training camp and the Bucs' would still welcome him with open arms.

Which incited the following response from Winfield.

“Most definitely, most definitely. I’m sure we’re still reaching out to him, trying to see if he’s trying to come back to the team. Hey, it could happen. Anything’s possible.”

So as juicy as this Antoine Winfield Jr. quote is, it's important to note that he was simply responding to questions he was asked by Sherman. As you'll clearly see if you watch the interview, Winfield and Sherman were playfully discussing the idea of Brady's return to the Bucs. Winfield's suggestion that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reaching out to Brady about a possible return was about as tongue-in-cheek as it gets.

So you'll just have to stand by until the newest 'Tom Brady return' rumor arises.

It won't take long.
