BREAKING: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Re-Sign Productive Veteran to Bolster Defensive Line

The Buccaneers are bringing back a familiar face who will undoubtedly help the team on and off the field.
In this story:

William Gholston has become synonymous with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the past decade.

Not just because he's dawned the pewter and red for each of his ten seasons (and counting) in the NFL — making him one of the longest-serving players on the roster — but because he's experienced the dramatic highs and lows of the franchise throughout that time.

After Tampa Bay signed Greg Gaines earlier this offseason — not to mention drafting a defensive tackle with their first pick in the draft for the second consecutive season — many began to wonder whether or not Gholston had seen his last days as a Buccaneer.

Well, according to Greg Auman of Fox Sports, the Buccaneers have come to terms with Gholston to ensure he stays in Tampa Bay for at least one more season.

We don't have any specific details regarding the contract at this point, but re-signing Will Gholston will undoubtedly receive rave reviews from the Bucs' fanbase, players, and coaching staff.

Although Gholston doesn't provide a ton of juice when it comes to rushing the passer, his length, frame, and motor have allowed him to be a very effective run-stuffer over the course of his career.

Just as important, Gholston is well-liked in the Buccaneers' locker room, and he has developed a reputation for being an important leader on the team. His experience, work ethic, and personality will help to ensure the Bucs have another important voice to lean on this season.

Gholston was also the Buccaneers' 2022 Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee which means the citizens of Tampa will benefit from his presence beyond just his contributions on the field.
