Buccaneers Face 'Most Complete Team' in San Francisco 49ers Says Lavonte David

Ahead of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' matchup against the San Francisco 49ers linebacker Lavonte David joined The Jim Rome Show to talk about their opponent.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5) were able to snap their four-game losing streak in Week 10, but face a daunting challenge visiting the San Francisco 49ers (6-3) in Week 11 trying to stack wins for the first time since Week 4.

That challenge facing the Buccaneers isn't taken lightly either, despite the fact the 49ers are losers of their last four games because leaders like linebacker Lavonte David know just how good the team they're about to play can really be.

"They're probably going to be the most complete team that we play all season," David said while speaking to Jim Rome about the matchup. "They do what they do and they do it really well. They've got a lot of movement on offense...(and) they're back to a complete team. So we're definitely going to have our hands full coming up this week, and we know what they're capable of but we know what we're capable of as well. As long as we focus on what we need to focus on and everybody just (does) our jobs everything will be fine."

Part of the reason David knows Tampa Bay won't see the same San Francisco team that lost three straight is the return of receiver Deebo Samuel who played just nine snaps in the first of those losses and was inactive for the next two.

With Samuel back, the 49ers put 34 points on the Jacksonville Jaguars (6-3) who were winners of five straight before being dismantled in Week 10.

In order for the Buccaneers to avoid the Jaguars' fate, David says they'll have to rely on disciplined football and make sure they don't let coach Kyle Shanahan's creativity get the best of them.

"It just all comes down to discipline," David said. "When you're playing a team like this who's trying to beat you (by) outsmarting you it comes down to just fundamentals and playing the game using your technique. Don't try to do too much, just play the game and let the game come to you. That's how they get people, just get people going (in) different directions...and that's when they gash you. So we definitely got to be on point in everything we do."

It sounds simpler than it is, of course, and many teams before the Bucs have tried and failed to pull out a win against this San Francisco squad.

David sounds confident his unit can be part of the reason Tampa Bay steals a win from the West Coast, and if it can do it then the narrative around the team could change for the better with December football right around the corner.
