Buccaneers 'Need to Upgrade' Wide Receiver Position Says NFL Draft Analyst
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have two of the best wide receivers playing the game today with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin on the roster.
Very few will argue the fact that when healthy, the Bucs duo is lethal to opposing defenses.
So, if the unit needs new talent via the NFL Draft, we would expect it to come no earlier than Day 2, with the team's first-round pick being spent on a player who can make a more immediate impact.

But for Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, that player Tampa Bay needs to target is indeed a wide receiver.
And with the No. 19 pick in his latest mock draft, Feldman sends Boston College standout Zay Flowers to help Evans, Godwin, and whoever their quarterback might be.
"Whether Baker Mayfield or Kyle Trask can prove to be the answer at QB in the post-Tom Brady era, the Bucs need to upgrade at receiver," says Feldman. "While the idea of picking an OT here might be tempting, Flowers is too good to pass up."
Not only does Feldman have the Buccaneers selecting a receiver in the first round over - say - Oklahoma Sooners offensive tackle Anton Harrison, he doubles down by saying another option the team could consider is USC receiver, Jordan Addison.
Currently, receiver Russell Gage is the Bucs' No. 3 man behind Evans and Godwin.

The problem is that Gage spent most of the year battling injuries and as a result chipped in the fewest receptions he's had over the past three seasons of his career.
Still, with Evans and Godwin both set to start the new season healthy, taking a receiver in the first round feels like the actions of a team unaware of their own needs.
Especially considering Alabama Crimson Tide safety Brian Branch was still available.
