Baker Mayfield Working Out With Former Buccaneers Super Bowl Champion
It isn't uncommon for NFL players from different squads to workout with each other in the offseason — preparing for the NFL is no easy task, after all, and iron sharpens iron, as the old saying goes. It would also make sense then that players who live in the same area would work out with each other in the offseason, and it seems like that's led Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield to a former Bucs Super Bowl Champion.
Former Buccaneers wideout Scotty Miller posted an Instagram photo of him and Mayfield together during a workout on Friday in Tampa. The pairing makes sense, as Mayfield is obviously in Tampa Bay while playing for the Bucs while Miller may still live here after playing for the team previously to joining the Atlanta Falcons in 2023.
There's another aspect that makes it a bit intertesting, though — Miller is currenrly a free agent.
Miller joined the Falcons for the 2023 season. He caught just 11 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns, his 11 receptions the lowest he's had in his career after playing in 10 or more games. The Buccaneers aren't exactly wanting for receiver help, but a meeting between a current Bucs player and a former one in Tampa could be interesting nonetheless.
Miller finished his career in Tampa Bay with 74 catches for 924 yards and five touchdowns.
