Buccaneers' Star Linebacker Devin White Shows During Team Photoshoot

Is the trade saga over for Bucs' star linebacker Devin White?
In this story:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had one last voluntary event leading up to their mandatory minicamp beginning on Tuesday - the annual photo shoot.

Truth be told there will be many opportunities for Buccaneers players to be photographed, but this is an important one because it's the first full-scale team shoot for use in advertising and promotional materials, and because linebacker Devin White was there.

And yes, he was wearing a Bucs uniform.

For months now the talk surrounding Tampa Bay has been the nationally anticipated collapse of a team that just won a Super Bowl in February of 2021 and the implosion of its relationship with its star linebacker.

Of course, controversy - small and big - is nothing new for White and his connection with the Buccaneers.

When White was selected with the fifth pick in the 2019 NFL Draft many national draft experts thought it was at best a reach to take an off-ball linebacker that high, and at worst it was a terrible decision all around.

So from the beginning, there has been something to gripe about during White's time with the franchise.

But there's been plenty to celebrate as well, including a stretch leading to the team's second Super Bowl win in franchise history where White played like he may just become the best off-ball linebacker in the NFL.

Even before then, fans had rallied around him as one of the faces of the franchise and mourned with him when he lost his favorite horse Daisy Mae not even two months after being drafted.

There have been plenty of ups and downs with White during his time with the Bucs.

And we don't think the relationship has become 'love/hate', but maybe 'love/disappointed'.

Seeing him smiling in his gear once again is a reminder of those good times, and a small slice of hope that the player and team can move on together toward a season that shocks all those who doubt Tampa Bay will be relevant in life after Tom Brady.
