The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are soon facing a tall task against the San Fransisco 49ers. With a 4-5 record on the season, the Buccaneers will be playing catch up to the New Orleans Saints, who are a win ahead of the Buccaneers in the NFC South standings. The 49ers pose a great challenge for the Buccaneers, who used their last game to snap a four-game losing streak.

Ahead of the matchup, Buccaneers star offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs joined the Pat McAfee Show, where he talked about starting quarterback Baker Mayfield.

"It's been awesome from the moment we first met. I think we've got a great relationship and being able to hang out outside of the facility as well," Wirfs said of playing with Mayfield. "The passion that Bake brings every day to the facility, it's incredible."

Critics can judge Mayfield's on-field performance all they want, and it can be warranted, but what remains true no matter what is the leadership and impact he makes. Mayfield is going to play fiery football, and it's infectious among the team.

"The division is kind of up for grabs, so it's just being on top of the details, being on top of the little things and locking in this third quarter of the season," Wirfs said.

With Mayfield's leadership, postseason play is certainly in the cards. While playing the 49ers in this upcoming weekend slate of games will be a big challenge, playing them close or even pulling off the upset could lead to a midseason turnaround and get the Buccaneers back on the trajectory they started the season with.

On top of Mayfield's leadership and passion he brings to the football field, he's completed 65 percent of his passes for 2,143 passing yards and 14 passing touchdowns to his five interceptions.

As mentioned, the Buccaneers are second in the NFC South and have a golden opportunity to take the division and make postseason play.
