Buccaneers' Todd Bowles Has Massive Take on Panthers' QB Bryce Young

Todd Bowles shares a steep career projection for Bryce Young ahead of their second matchup against each other.

One of the most unique storylines to follow across the NFL each and every see ason is the rookie quarterbacks across the league and how they perform over the course of the season. Of course, what situation the quarterback is drafted to is important, but they're still able to be analyzed and projected despite the win/loss totals.

Bryce Young is a rookie quarterback the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have seen this season. They played a few games back as the Buccaneers defeated the Carolina Panthers 21-18 in a close matchup.

On Sunday, the Buccaneers take on the Panthers once again, but this time in a must-win scenario that would see them clinch a playoff berth and division title with a win.

Buccaneers' Offensive Coordinator Named Top NFL Head Coach Candidate

Ahead of the matchup, Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles spoke on Young and what he's seen from the rookie quarterback this season and in their last matchup.

“A lot of poise. [Young]’s one of the best scramblers I’ve seen this year. [He has] a lot of poise. He’s going to be one of the best to ever do it once he’s done playing,” Bowles said of the Panthers quarterback.

In the last matchup, Young finished with 178 passing yards while completing 15 of his 31 passes and throwing an interception. Again, the situation these players are drafted into is important when having these discussions.

For Young, he's shown plenty of flashes while playing on a roster that is currently 2-14 while heading into the team's final game. Fortunately for him, the only direction he and his team can go is up.

Despite the rocky start for Young and the Panthers, Bowles has some high expectations and praise for the former Alabama quarterback.

“I believe he’s a very good quarterback," Bowles continued. “Poise in the pocket, he can throw on a dime, he’s very athletic, he can move in the pocket – not just to run but to throw, as well. He’s very patient.”
