The Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2023 season was a roller coaster. There were highs, lows, and everything in between. However, they overcame adversity and the preseason notion that they wouldn't amount to anything by winning the NFC South and making it to the NFC Divisional round of the playoffs.

With 2023 now in the past, they are now turning their attention to the 2024 season and after having a strong, under-the-radar free agency, they will look to improve off of what they were able to accomplish last season now that voluntary workouts have commenced.

One of the key cogs for the Bucs is lead running back Rachaad White and when speaking with the media following Monday's first voluntary workout, White exclaimed why he expects another strong outing from this rendition of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"Getting our big-time players and our big-time leaders back, and our young guys following their lead and trying to get to where they're at is huge. We finished off really strong and that was great for us to see [with] how we were playing and how we came together," White said. "A lot of guys are in the building, like Mike [Evans] is in the building, Chris [Godwin] is in the building... a lot of guys are in the building because they know what we're capable of.

"You get back around ball and a lot of guys miss it. At the end of the day, you're saying you want a break, but you miss it. You need time away from your family and stuff like that... Its' just huge. We know what we're capable of and we're just trying to take a step forward with this phase."

White, a former third-round draft pick out of Arizona State in 2022, quickly immersed himself in the Bucs' backfield splitting time with former Buccaneer Leonard Fournette. By the end of his rookie season, he had overtaken the lead back role from Fournette and served as the Bucs' workhorse RB during his 2023 sophomore season.

The Bucs running game hasn't even been average over the past couple of seasons, but with another year under White's belt along with an emphasis on improving the running game, the Bucs should improve in this area — opening up the passing game for Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans, and Chris Godwin.
