Former Buccaneers' running back, Ronald 'Rojo' Jones, has found a new home. According to ESPN NFL Nation reporter, Todd Archer, Jones will be heading to Dallas, Texas to suit up for the Dallas Cowboys on a one-year deal.

Jones was originally drafted by the Buccaneers with the 38th overall pick in the 2nd round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of the University of Southern California.

Following being drafted, Jones has spent the majority of his short NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before leaving for the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency following the 2021 season.

During his four years in Tampa Bay, Jones accumulated 2,174 yards rushing on 488 carries and 18 touchdowns. Jones also added 76 catches for 571 yards and one touchdown. His best season came during the Bucs' Super Bowl run in 2020 where he compiled 192 rushes for 978 yards and 7 touchdowns. Rojo nearly eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in 2020 and may have, but the emergence of Leonard Fournette in the playoffs likely had something to do with it.

Following his 2020 season, Jones’ production fell off heavily as the team turned towards leaning on Fournette and then ultimately led to him leaving in free agency to the KC Chiefs. Once in Kansas City, Jones saw himself fall way behind in the pecking order and seldom saw meaningful game action.

Jones will now try to prove himself in the Dallas Cowboys’ running back room backing up Tony Pollard.
