Former Buccaneer Tom Brady to Have a Say in Raiders Head Coach Search

The Las Vegas Raiders are searching for a new head coach, and former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Tom Brady will have a say in the search.
In this story:

The Las Vegas Raiders are in the midst of getting out of what was a tough situation. They moved on from both their head coach and general manager in the middle of the season, a task that is by no means easy.

While the Raiders are being coached by interim head coach Antonio Pierce, the team's owner Mark Davis is looking to replace both the general manager and head coach positions.

It was reported after his retirement that former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will be involved in the process of doing so.

While Brady is attempting to invest in the Raiders and become a minority owner, that process has come to a crossroads because of this specific matter. Brady's contract to hit the broadcast booth next season is a conflict with him helping with the franchise's decision making.

According to CBS Sports, Brady "will have some amount of influence” when it comes to the decision.

The former Buccaneers quarterback remains close with Davis as the two are now partnering, along with the rest of the ownership group, to replace Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler.

Obviously, there has been some issues with Brady attempting to buy stake in the Raiders. Davis was reportedly agreeing to sell some share to Brady for a discounted price. This was an issue with the NFL's finance committee. And, as mentioned, Brady will hit the broadcast booth in a season.

Others helping lead the search will be Sandra Douglass Morgan, the team's president, among others. As mentioned, Antonio Pierce is the interim head coach. Champ Kelly is the acting general manager in the meantime, too.

Brady has been a part of seven Super Bowl wins, with his most recent coming in 2020 with the Buccaneers. His knowledge of the NFL after his illustrious career is of value, and the Raiders understand that.
