Former Buccaneers Coach Raheem Morris Helps Save Three-Year-Old Boy
Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris had a recent life experience that will go down as one more silver lining to the ordeal Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin went through in front of a national audience last year.
According to an Instagram post by Morris' wife Nicole, the former Buccaneers coach and his family were at the Encore Las Vegas when a three-year-old boy was taken out of a pool without a pulse.
Per an ESPN report, Morris said as life-saving CPR was being started he ran to offer any help he might be able to provide.

"I saw people calling 911 so my first question was, where is the AED?" Morris said to ESPN. "When I got back, we had a doctor on site that was able to start the compressions. I was able to hand the AED to him, get it open for him, put the pads on the child, and he ended up being OK."
An AED is an automatic external defibrillator and, "is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest," according to the American Red Cross. "It's a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use, medical device that can analyze the heart's rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm."
ESPN says Morris credited the league's training on life-saving measures that have become more common since Hamlin's collapse on the playing field, and that the recent tragedy suffered by Bucs linebacker Shaquil Barrett's family, "has helped increase awareness and preparedness among coaches and players."
