Former Buccaneers Quarterback Compares Patrick Mahomes to Tom Brady
Blaine Gabbert signed with the Kansas City Chiefs during free agency after spending time as the Buccaneers' backup quarterback for the past three seasons. Gabbert is entering his 13th season with his sixth different team, but will once again get to backup the best quarterback in the league.
Gabbert spent the last three seasons in Tampa Bay backing up perennial greatest of all-time Tom Brady with which they won a Super Bowl in their first season together. Now, with Brady retired, Gabbert will get to backup Patrick Mahomes - the unquestioned heir to Brady's throne as the NFL's best quarterback.

After spending just a couple of months with the Chiefs, Gabbert sees a ton of similarities between Brady and Mahomes, specifically their attention to detail and how hard they work to make sure they are doing everything they can to be successful.
“They’re maniacal perfectionists,” Gabbert said. “And I mean that in the most endearing way possible. They’re the two best, in my opinion, ever to play the game. To see the similarities, how they operate in the meeting room, on the practice field. They’re completely different players, as we all know, but the way they approach the game, on and off the football field is the exact same.”
It's extremely hard to disagree with Gabbert. Brady is known for his elite knowledge and work ethic when he was still playing and with how much success that Mahomes has accomplished in his young career it is hard not to compare the two to one another even though their playing styles are different in a multitude of aspects.
