Former Buccaneers Star Defensive Tackle Joining NFL Network
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had some really solid to great players come through the franchise over the years.
For a while Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp wrecked opposing offensive lines before he took a walk through the media landscape after his playing days were over.
Following Sapp, Gerald McCoy eventually became the next great defensive tackle on the Buccaneers roster and though he never replicated the same on-field success as his predecessor he will be following in the same footsteps into media.

“Former All-Pro defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, 14-year veteran quarterback Chase Daniel, former Stanford head coach David Shaw, former head coach and long-time assistant coach Leslie Frazier, former offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Pep Hamilton, and Super Bowl champion running back Robert Turbin have joined NFL Network as analysts,” as announced by NFL Network via press release.
McCoy will be a regular on NFL GameDay Morning according to the release, airing Sunday mornings at 9 A.M. ET.
The show also features Rich Eisen, Kurt Warner, Steve Mariucci, Cynthia Frelund, Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo, Tom Pelissero, and Kimmi Chex.
McCoy spent the first nine years of his career with Tampa Bay and spent time with the Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Dallas Cowboys before retiring earlier this year.

Through those nine years with the Bucs McCoy racked up 54.5 sacks, ranking fourth all-time in the team’s record books for sacks by a defensive lineman.
He also ranks third all-time among Buccaneers defensive linemen in games played, second in starts, and fourth in tackles.
Not surprisingly, he ranks behind Sapp in all of those categories, but now we’ll find out if McCoy can get out of the legend’s gigantic shadow as he steps into another arena once occupied by No. 99.
