Following two years as a member of the rotation in Tampa Bay, the last couple of months have been a little rough for former Bucs wide receiver Tyler Johnson.

On Monday, Johnson learned that he was being released for the third time since last fall, this time from the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Buccaneers surprised everyone when they cut Johnson at the conclusion of training camp. He quickly landed with the Houston Texans but only appeared in two games with the team before he was released yet again. Tampa Bay swooped him back up as a member of the practice squad where Johnson remained for the rest of the season before signing with Las Vegas.

Johnson was selected in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft and made an instant impression with the Buccaneers. He appeared in 14 games, including three starts, while catching 12 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson drew an important penalty late in the team's victory in the NFC Championship against the Green Bay Packers. His effort helped Tampa Bay come out on top in Super Bowl LV.

In total, Johnson recorded 48 catches for 529 yards and two touchdowns with the Buccaneers. He starred at Minnesota during his college career, developing into the program's all-time leader in receiving yards (3,305) and receiving touchdowns (35).
