How to Watch Buccaneers vs. Vikings: Kickoff Time, TV Channel and Odds
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting ready to kickoff the 2023-24 NFL season as they head north to face the Minnesota Vikings.
The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a season that saw them get off to a hot start, but ultimately ended with defeat. The Vikings finished the 2022 season with a 13-4 overall record - finishing 1st in the NFC North - but were unable to do anything with that as they lost to Daniel Jones and the New York Giants in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers limped into an 8-9 record last season. For most teams this will not net them a chance to make the playoffs, but luckily for the Bucs they played in perhaps the worst division in football and won the NFC South while going under .500. The Buccaneers luck ran-out as they eventually were handled by the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

The main thing that held the Vikings back last season was their defense. Being able to stop high-powered opposing offenses is a must if you are to be taken serious as a potential Super Bowl contender around the league. With their defense lacking, the Vikes made an effort to improve this area over the off-season. With a new defense, there may be some early hiccups that the Buccaneers will need to take advantage of if they hope to win this one.
The Buccaneers will also have their work cut out for them as Minnesota boasts one of the most elite offenses in the NFL - even with the recent departure of RB Dalvin Cook. The Vikings still have the best wide receiver in the NFL in Justin Jefferson and it will need to be a group effort in the secondary to try and slow him down as Bucs' head coach Todd Bowles tends to gear his secondary towards a zone look.
As for the Bucs' offense, new offensive coordinator, Dave Canales, and starting quarterback, Baker Mayfield, will need to be in sync. The Buccaneers should look to get the running game going early with Rachaad White and Sean Tucker to open up the play-action passing game; something the Buccaneers excelled at during the preseason.
