On Monday, the Indianapolis Colts announced they were signing veteran wide receiver Breshad Perriman to a deal. The franchise waived undrafted free-agent wide receiver Tyler Adams in a corresponding move. Perriman is the second player that was on Tampa Bay's roster in 2022 to join the Colts over the last week as he's back with former teammate Genard Avery.
Perriman spent time with seven teams during his first eight years at the professional level. His most recent action came with the Buccaneers over the last two seasons.
Tampa Bay acquired Perriman in the back half of the 2021 season after he was waived by the Chicago Bears. He appeared in the final six games of the regular season and was involved in a play that will be remembered forever. Perriman caught one pass for 58 yards and a touchdown to deliver Tampa Bay a 33-27 overtime victory against the Buffalo Bills. Even better, the score was Tom Brady's 700th touchdown pass.
Perriman was selected by the Baltimore Ravens In the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft following a standout career at UCF. The Ravens released him ahead of the 2018 season and he ended up spending the year with Washington and Cleveland. He joined the Buccaneers and New York Jets for a one-year stint before landing in Detroit. Perriman was cut by the Lions and Bears prior to returning to Tampa Bay.
During his eight-year career, Perriman has 145 passes for 2,343 yards with 16 touchdowns in 80 appearances.
