NFL Insider Claims Buccaneers Should Pursue Patriots’ Bill Belichick
The NFL season is over halfway through. Teams have a good idea of where they currently are as a franchise, and forward-thinking to the offseason isn't a bad thing for some teams. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, of course, are one of those teams.
With a 4-6 record through ten games, the Buccaneers are right in the thick of the NFC South, which is led by the 5-5 New Orleans Saints.
Still, decisions are to be made by the Buccaneers. A 4-6 start through ten games is less-than-desireable for NFL teams and, if the team was a bit stronger, winning through the division would be much easier.
What decisions make sense for the Buccaneers to make? NFL insider Mike Florio thinks the team should make a move to bring in Bill Belichick from the New England Patriots, claiming it would be a "fascinating" hire.

Belichick's Patriots currently sit at 2-8 while they rest at the bottom of the AFC East. The team has struggled to make any substantial run since Tom Brady departed for the Buccaneers in 2020.
Florio took to the show Pardon My Take to explain his stance on the six-time Super Bowl-winning coach making his way to Tampa.
"The teams to watch that I mentioned, the Buccaneers, Panthers, Commanders, Chargers, those are the four I'd watch most closely," Florio explained. "And of those, the one that I think is the most fascinating is the Buccaneers."
The post-Brady era seemingly needs a spark. In the first few games, Brady's successor Baker Mayfield was that spark, but that has cooled off. Belichick would be a big-name hire to spark a new era and establish a culture that's hungry for another Super Bowl win.
"Go out and hire a big name, put butts in the seats, they can’t get people to come to the games now that they don’t have Brady," Florio continued. "Go after Belichick, put butts in the seats, if he wins, he wins, if he doesn’t, he doesn’t, but we’re going to make money in the interim by filling up our stadium."
While a big-name hiring would certainly help fill up seats, so would winning. As they say, winning cures all. Belichick has a history of doing so consistently until the post-Brady era hit. Maybe it's time for a big change. A young quarterback and stifling defense paired with Belichick's expertise could make for a fun, refreshing new era of Buccaneers football.
