Rob Gronkowski, Baker Mayfield Have Same Message Regarding Free Agent Mike Evans
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell short of their goal to make it to a Super Bowl this past season, but that doesn't take away from the great year that they had. Now that the season is over, the Buccaneers and some of their players from the 2023 season will have some decisions to make with the offseason close to getting underway.
One of the main contributors for the Bucs last season was WR Mike Evans who once again put up another 1,000-yard receiving season with first-year Bucs' QB Baker Mayfield at the helm. Evans was playing in the last year of his contract in 2023 and had hopes that he would be able to reach an agreement with the head brass in Tampa Bay on an extension prior to the season - that never manifested itself.

Now, with the free agency just on the horizon, the two sides still have yet to come to terms on such an extension and it appears likely that the veteran star wideout is headed towards free agency. However, for former Buccaneers' tight end Rob Gronkowski and also impending free agent Baker Mayfield, they would love for Evans to remain in red & pewter for the rest of his NFL career saying "Buc for life."
Gronk and Evans played together for two seasons, winning a Super Bowl together during the 2020 season. Gronk had nothing but positive things to say about his former teammate pointing to not only the underrated things he does on the field but also the consummate person he is off the field that also goes unnoticed.
Of course for Baker Mayfield the re-signing of Evans would go a huge way in him feeling more comfortable in re-signing with the Buccaneers himself as the two quickly formed a connection in just year one leading to some of the best stats that Baker has put up in his career.

Hopefully, Baker and Gronk are right and the Glazers and GM Jason Licht are able to put together something that will benefit both the team and Evans as we approach free agency, but there will always be that outside chance that the right team comes calling with an offer that is hard to pass up.
