Super Bowl Champion Quarterback Not Impressed With Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers

This surely came out of nowhere...

During ESPN's most recent 30-for-30 episode 'Bullies of Baltimore', former Ravens' quarterback made a statement saying, "I love Tom Brady, I love Aaron Rodgers, I love these guys - it's not impressive."

Dilfer, who is most notably remembered for his time with the Baltimore Ravens that saw them win Super Bowl XXXV in 2000 over the New York Giants, slated the fact that the game has changed tremendously over the past 20+ years since he was an NFL quarterback.

Back when the Ravens won the Super Bowl in 2000, defenses and a team's run game were heavily relied on to take teams to that next level. With rule changes in effect since then, quarterbacks have become the prime target for teams to help push them over the edge.

Nowadays, quarterbacks are given the luxury of calls from roughing the passer to defensive pass interference - calls that most likely would not have gone their way back in Dilfer's era of football. The one strife I do have with Dilfer's comments is him mentioning Rodgers and Brady, especially the latter as Brady played during the same era of football as Dilfer.

Personally, I feel as if Dilfer is speaking more so to the players of today's game and the ever evolving 'flash' players like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes rather than some of the "old heads" that are still in the game or have played across multiple different eras of the NFL.

Whether Dilfer actually feels that way about Brady or Rodgers, what both those quarterbacks have been able to do in their time in the NFL is impressive and saying otherwise would be a disservice to the game of football.
