Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defensive Starter Leaves Game With Concussion

The Buccaneers starting cornerback left the matchup against the Texas and was evaluated for a concussion.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in Houston to battle to the Texans in an attempt to finally get back on the right side of the win column. They're on a three-game losing streak and this game provides a solid opportunity for the Buccaneers to snap that streak.

During the losing streak, the offense hasn't done the defense any favors. While the defense has played well enough to win games, the offense hasn't matched that.

To make matters worse, the Buccaneers are now without a starting cornerback. Jamel Dean left the game and was evaluated for a concussion, Buccaneers Communications.

The Buccaneers lead 10-7 in the first quarter, and the team scored its second first-quarter touchdown of the season. It's unfortunate that the Buccaneers will be without Dean while they're finding success against the Texans early.

Texans quarterback CJ Stroud threw for 65 yards while completing five of his seven passes as they stormed down the field for a touchdown. With Dean out, Stroud's job gets that much easier.

Watching how the defense continues to play against the rookie quarterback throughout this game will be interesting, and it'll be huge if they're able to protect the lead and let the offense build some separation.
