Tampa Bay Buccaneers ‘More Aggressive’ in 20-6 Win Over Tennessee Titans

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers looked a little like their old selves in their Week 10 win over the Tennessee Titans.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5) got back in the win column with a 20-6 win over the Tennessee Titans (3-6), but they also got back to doing a little more of what we’re used to seeing since coach Todd Bowles came on board in 2020.

“We were probably more aggressive today like we were all year like we used to be,” Bowles said following the Buccaneers' win. “Just getting back to the basics and doing the things that we do well and playing fast football.”

To say the Bucs got after Titans quarterback Will Levis would be an understatement as the defense laid 13 hits on the rookie and sacked him four times.

The return to winning, getting after the quarterback, and playing aggressive defense also sparked a little flashback to linebacker Devin White’s past as he racked up four tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, and two of those hits on Levis.

White also came up with a pass defense, giving him perhaps the most well-rounded performance we’ve seen in some time.

“I was just trying to push through. I feel like I’ve been challenged a lot and it’s hard out there, but I just feel like playing with [Lavonte David], he keeps me going,” White said following the win. “We’ve got that mindset — relentless, trying to do all we can do for this team. At the end of the day, we’re giving our all for this team, so we just want to win games.”

White also talked about the joy of playing with his teammates - who he calls his brothers - and getting to celebrate their big plays as they do his.

When safety Antoine Winfield Jr. secured the interception with less than seven minutes remaining and Tampa Bay holding a 20-6 lead, that all but sealed the win.

As he and his teammates - including White - broke out the familiar rowboat celebration in front of an excited Raymond James Stadium home crowd it brought back memories of winning, dominating, and consistent success.

Bowles says the Buccaneers got back to basics, but they got back to much more.

From giving up 39 points - a league-high - in Week 9 and a rookie record to Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud to just six - currently tied for the second-lowest in Week 10.

It was a welcome return to recognizable aggression from the Bucs defense and a more than welcome result.
