Ticket Prices For Buccaneers-Lions Divisional Round Matchup Reach Record Numbers

Fans will have to dig deep in their pockets to pay for Divisional Round tickets after prices continue to soar.

The scene is set for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Divisional Round matchup against the Detroit Lions this coming weekend. The Buccaneers completed a 9-8 season in their first year without Tom Brady as Baker Mayfield led them to a big Wild Card win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now, traveling to Detroit, the Buccaneers are up for yet another battle in the playoffs. The Lions had their first home game in three decades a week ago as they held on against the Los Angeles Rams 24-23 to advance to the Divisional Round.

It's safe to say the Lions fans were anticipating the game, as they showed up in a big way for their favorite team, and they're set to do it again, creating a tough environment for the Buccaneers.

The average ticket price for the Divisional Round matchup is $1,186, according to FOX Sports.

The average price is a record for an NFL Divisional Round game. For reference, the previous record was an average price of $605 when the San Fransisco 49ers played the Dallas Cowboys last season.

The two teams have already faced off once this season. The Lions defeated the Buccaneers 20-6 in a game that saw little production from the Buccaneers offense. It's safe to say both teams are in much better form at this point in the season than they were early in the year.

This game should be a close one. The Buccaneers strung together 32 points on the Eagles' defense and the Lions have scored 30 or more points in three of their last five games.

With a potential good game on the way, prices continue to climb, with the cheapest ticket sitting north of $600. For anyone wanting to go to the game, they're going to have to dig a bit deeper than normal into their pockets.
