Tom Brady, Buccaneers Legend Ranks Best Player in NFL Top 100 History
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had three incredibly successful seasons with quarterback Tom Brady leading the charge.
Following the Buccaneers’ 2020 Super Bowl win and 2021 return to the Divisional Round of the playoffs, Brady was named the No. 1 player in all of football by the NFL’s Top 100 Players list.
It was his first time at the top with the Bucs, and his fifth since the list was first introduced 12 years ago.
So, with the 12th list about to come out in just over a few days from now, NFL.com’s Adam Schein decided to make a list ranking all of the previous year’s No. 1 players.

To nobody’s surprise, the best No. 12 of them all reigns supreme.
“Did you expect anyone different?,” asked Schein. “Do you think I’m crazy?!
“Tom Brady is the G.O.A.T. Really, I could end it there. But…allow me to mention that he’s a seven-time Super Bowl champion, five-time Super Bowl MVP and three-time regular-season MVP. Oh, and he ranks first on the all-time list in QB wins (251), Pro Bowls (15), passing yards (89,214), passing touchdowns (649), postseason wins (35), Super Bowl appearances (10) and on and on…Only one man on this list of Top 100 No. 1s has received the honor more than once — and Brady’s done so four times. I think we’re done here.”
Brady’s legendary status hasn’t been up for debate in a long time, but some still argue whether or not he’s truly the best there ever was or will be.
One young quarterback challenging that mantle is Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes who has two Super Bowl wins and MVPs in three trips and is a two-time NFL MVP.
So his resume is certainly on its way to being one of the best ever, even if he doesn’t quite make it to Brady heights.
But on Schein’s rankings Mahomes came in third, right behind Payton Manning who most agree was great, but not Brady-great.

Aaron Rodgers, who many would like to enter into the discussion, is fourth on Schein’s list. And that all but puts an end to that argument we think.
Of course, the NFL Top 100 - scheduled to be released on July 24th - is a hotly debated list every year.
But this ranking certainly appears to be a slam dunk, unless Mahomes somehow gets the No. 1 spot three times this season alone.
