TEMPE -- Arizona Cardinals football is finally here.

Well, maybe not game action - or training camp - but the first step towards that process came today with the beginning of offseason team activities.

It was a bright and sunny day here at the team's facility in Tempe, though some of Arizona's brightest stars weren't in attendance as the Cardinals didn't see either Budda Baker or DeAndre Hopkins present today.

Video from today:

Baker - who requested a trade after the Cardinals didn't oblige to make him the highest paid safety in the league - posted himself elsewhere working out on Instagram before/during practice.

Hopkins was in Canada over the weekend and recorded a podcast episode of "I AM ATHLETE" where he opened up on his current situation in Arizona. The Cardinals have reportedly tried to trade him since the early days of the offseason.

Kyler Murray wasn't practicing as he continues to rehab from a torn ACL, though he was overseeing the quarterbacks with offensive coordinator Drew Petzing.

The Cardinals saw Isaiah Simmons in action today, working out with the defensive backs. He was previously not present at the voluntary workouts Arizona had prior to the draft.

Zaven Collins still continued to work with the edge players, as his possible transition from inside to outside linebacker continues to take course.
