PHOENIX -- Trade speculation has only grown around Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins since news first broke earlier this offseason that the team may look to trade the receiver.

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show, Hopkins said he felt like he was in the best shape of his life.

"Right now I feel the best shape I've been in. I think last year I was kind of dealing with some things but you guys seen in the first game back what I did … I feel great. I feel amazing. Mentally I feel good," Hopkins said.

"Obviously I've been hearing a lot of trade talks. But I take things day for day, man. I don't look forward to the future. I live in the present moment. Right now the Arizona Cardinals is the team and the roster that I'm on. I'm preparing myself for whatever the future holds. I don't really look forward to the future, I let you guys do that talking."

Hopkins' no-trade clause was reportedly voided after his six-game suspension last season, leaving his future in the hands of Arizona - a team that could possibly enter a rebuild phase and choose to move on from Hopkins.

"We just been keeping our head down. Obviously paying attention to the headlines and tabloids and stuff like that because you got to. When you hear some of those trade rumors, you would hate to think that all those things are lies," said Hopkins.

"We keep close attention to the tabloids but we don't put anything out in the tabloids ourselves. DeAndre Hopkins gonna do what DeAndre Hopkins do when I'm on the field. That's all that matters."

Exactly what sort of compensation the Cardinals can expect back varies, though Hopkins is insistent that if he is indeed traded, he's ready to show up for work and make the price tag worth it.

"I'm gonna go make it worth it. I'm gonna do my job, and that's all I can do," said Hopkins before departing the interview.

Hopkins reportedly met with new general manager Monti Ossenfort prior to the 2023 NFL Combine, where Arizona's new front office leader offered the following:

"I've had a conversation with DeAndre [Hopkins] and DeAndre's representative. Those have been very productive conversations. I've watched from afar the last 10 years or whatever it's been with DeAndre and have had been on teams that haven't had to compete against him. I've seen the player that DeAndre is and what he can do on the field and I know he's tough to defend. And so you know, I'm glad that he's on the team," Ossenfort said at the NFL Combine.

"I think with with him or as it goes to any player, those are situations that we'll address if they come up, but I'm glad the DeAndre is on the team right now and I'm happy to be on the same team with him."

Hopkins - 30-years-old - has a $30.75 million cap hit for next season, second only for receivers behind Tyreek Hill.
