Kyler Murray Leads NFL in This Stat Since Returning

The Arizona Cardinals have seen some stellar play from Kyler Murray in this stat.

ARIZONA -- Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray isn't winning the MVP - or Comeback Player of the Year - after rehabbing a torn ACL suffered last season, though the team has been overall pleased with his return to action since making his debut in Week 10.

The Cardinals are 2-2 with Murray back at the helm, and though there's still plenty to clean up, he does lead the NFL in one category.

According to Pro Football Focus:

"With just a 1.2 turnover-worthy play rate, Kyler Murray has the lowest in the league since returning from injury."

There's been plenty of speculation on what the Cardinals could do at the quarterback position moving into 2024, though offensive coordinator Drew Petzing made it clear he wants Murray back in the mix.

"The goal is to always make the roster better in every way, shape or form. I think Monti, the scouting staff, the entire department is committed to that goal, but I feel really good about where Kyler's at as a franchise quarterback," Petzing said.

"He's absolutely that. I think he's done a great job of embracing that role, owning that role and moved into that role as he hit the field here - whatever it was about a month ago. So we've been really pleased with that."

In their latest win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Murray made a handful of passes that were absolute dimes.

Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon has been on the hype train since Day 1.

"I think he’ll tell you that operationally (we have to) make sure we’re doing a good job in and out of the huddle, getting guys situated, getting us in the right checks and calls and then playing at a high level, which he’s done," Gannon said earlier this week.

"I’m excited for him for this week to go against a really good football team at home and see if we can put our best foot forward.”

To this point, Murray has completed nearly 61% of his passes for 864 yards, three passing touchdowns and two interceptions with three more touchdowns coming on the ground.

The Cardinals play host to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15.
