The Kyler Murray Revenge Tour Stars Now
ARIZONA -- Good morning Cardinals fans, and welcome to the first stop of the Kyler Murray revenge tour.
This isn't a proclamation that Murray is set to re-write history books and march Arizona back to the postseason, nor a vote of confidence he can solely right a 1-8 ship that never had expectations of sailing in the first place.
The above points aren't factual, but just a matter of opinion. There can be debates on if those will or won't happen, but there's no mincing Murray's intentions this year - he's out for revenge.
"I just feel like I gained a new level of resiliency from this," Murray said earlier this week. "I already felt like I had that chip on my shoulder, never out of anything, never down. When you go through something like this, you find out really quick about who you are and what you're about."
There's always been buzz around Murray, as his title of being one of the Valley's most polarizing figures was earned and not given. You either love or hate Murray with seemingly no between.
His future was put into doubt following his significant ACL injury and a massive reset by the Cardinals that saw changes at head coach and general manager.
There's always been the narrative of Arizona moving on from Murray, though that's not an obscene possibility now when projecting the future. Countless shows, podcasts, articles and all other mediums have touched on that possibility - we here at All Cardinals are certainly guilty of that.
It's been a long 300+ days for Murray, being relegated to the side and having to watch everybody with internet access cast doubt around not only his return to Arizona in 2023 but also beyond. Caleb Williams. Tanking. Trade talk. All of it and more stayed in the headlines.
Murray's been fairly quiet during this process, far from the social media warrior many paint him to be. But you better believe he's been taking notes.
Marquise Brown said Murray was as motivated as ever. Murray didn't deny it.
"I can't get into all the thought process behind why. There's so many reasons why - but I would say that's accurate," he said.
And so after a long period of waiting, Murray will have his first of eight opportunities to re-write the narrative and overcome obstacles/expectations alike. He won't be stepping into the most talented offense he's played with, though the slate is clean nonetheless.
Who knows how the rest of the season will pan out for Arizona, and who knows how the revenge tour will start or finish. But it's beginning.
And if Murray has anything to say about, an encore won't be too far behind.
