Transcript of the conversation:

On importance of using legs to extend plays:

“I think it’s a part of my game that I’m willing to use, but like you said it’s not the main part of my game. I want to get the ball out and distribute it to the playmakers. I have to do a better job of finding my hots and getting those guys the ball, but if need be I’ll run and scramble.”

On if the game felt like a step forward compared to last week:

I would say that I learned from the mistakes I made in the last game, but there’s never a perfect game. So you have to watch the film and learn from the mistakes this game and just continue to get better.”

On if he felt more comfortable getting the first game out of the way:

“Yes, definitely. It felt more comfortable, more comfortability with the guys in the huddle, with the atmosphere and everything. Doing it for the second time was a little bit easier than the first time, so it felt good.”

On if he felt disappointment in losing a couple touchdown passes:

“I mean yes, but not for that reason—just the mistakes, have to clean that stuff up.”

On having a few passes that were high:

“Just quieting my feet down and focusing in on being accurate and working those throws with people at my feet. Just work on it.

On difficulty dealing with defense at full speed:

“It’s something that comes with reps, I feel like a lot of times you are going to be throwing with people around you, so you have to get comfortable doing it. So it just comes with reps.”

On main takeaways from game:

“Just cleaning it up, we can’t hurt ourselves. Just play as clean as possible and continue to move forward, we have to eliminate all negative plays and as long as we’re going forward we’re doing something right.”

On practicing against the Minnesota Vikings next week:

“I think it will be good, I think it will be fun to go against a new defense and not go against our defense and see different looks, different personnel. I think it will be good for us.”

On getting extended playing time:

“It was fun, I’m thankful for every opportunity I get to step on the field. I want to make the most of it and just want to learn from the things that I did well and the things I didn’t do well. Every time I step on the field I want to put my best foot forward.”

On if he sees growth in his ability everyday:

“I try, that’s the goal, to grow everyday and get better at something everyday. Practice, watching film, taking notes and figuring out what I need to do or what I did well and try to get better at it the next day.”

On if he takes pride in extending plays using his legs:

“It’s something I’m able to do and something I’m willing to do, but like I said earlier I want to get it to the playmakers’ hands. They can do a lot better things with the ball in their hands than I can. I want to get it out quickly and get it to them to make plays.”

On what he did well and didn’t do well today:

“I think playing on schedule, I felt like I did that well. Like I said earlier, whenever I’m hot, finding my hots and not necessarily running every time, but getting the ball out quickly and distributing.”
