Cardinals Safety Budda Baker Gives Inspirational Message to Incoming Players in NFL Draft
The future around Arizona Cardinals safety Budda Baker is still relatively cloudy.
Baker reportedly told the team months ago to make him the highest-paid safety in the league or trade him.
Baker's one of the most respected players in the league, working his way up to one of the best players in the league after being drafted in the second round by Arizona just years ago.
We're just a few days away from the 2023 NFL Draft, where plenty of young players have the opportunity to make a name for themselves. Often times players will hear things on their on/off the field evaluations from numerous directions, which can be negative and sometimes damaging.
Baker gave an inspirational message on his Twitter page that went through his previous draft experience:
"In honor of all these draft predictions… when I was coming out my true jr year, i received a letter from Nfl expressing to me that they think I should go back to school for another year. Which meant they thought I wouldn’t be drafted within the first 4 rounds.
"Biggest negatives was my size and durability…fast forward to the draft, the cardinals drafted me 2nd round 36th pick. Not only did I get drafted early, I also made special teams All Pro my rookie year and attended my 1st pro bowl. Fast forward 6 years…"
