The Arizona Cardinals are in full rebuild mode, and that was evident by their offseason decisions that saw a handful of big names depart the organization.

The early stages of the offseason saw the Cardinals mostly play their cards safe while setting themselves up for the future, which involved letting Zach Allen and Byron Murphy walk in free agency.

While Allen saw a nice chunk of change from the Denver Broncos, Murphy's deal was a bit more team friendly with the Minnesota Vikings - so much to the point where his acquisition was named a top-five move of the offseason by Bleacher Report:

"Minnesota already had an overwhelming need at corner last season, and Patrick Peterson left for Pittsburgh in free agency. As concerning as that was, however, the Vikings recovered tremendously with Byron Murphy. Two years and $17.5 million deal for a player who hasn't surrendered more than 7.5 yards per attempt in four seasons is a great deal," said David Kenyon.

The move ranked at No. 5, falling behind:

4. Dolphins Trade for Jalen Ramsey

3. 49ers Sign Javon Hargrave

2. Jets Trade for Aaron Rodgers

1. Bears Trade No. 1 Pick

When taking into account Murphy's ability on the field, that sort of money is considered a steal. He's capable of aligning both in and outside within the secondary while also limiting some of the best receivers in the game - when healthy.

That last part was absent last season for Murphy, as he played just nine games.

Murphy's contract was notable in many ways. His two-year deal features only $1.1 million in guaranteed salary, all of which comes in the first year. However, his base salary does jump to $8.3 million in 2024.

When speaking with Vikings media, Murphy made it clear he was happy to leave Arizona.

"Last year, (was the) first time (of me) actually getting injured, sitting out that many games, kind of brought me back to reality," Murphy said.

"I’m here, I’m doing all those things. (I’m) just happy to get away from that situation. Always thankful for that team, coming from there, but I’m just here now. Excited, and happy, this is just better for me. Everything is better."
