Five Most Winnable Games in 2023 for Cardinals

While the 2023 Arizona Cardinals schedule doesn't seem too forgiving, we found five games the team could manage to pull out wins for.
In this story:

No matter how you slice it, the 2023 Arizona Cardinals schedule is tough and very few wins look even somewhat realistic. It's going to be a long, grueling season unless Jonathan Gannon is the next Bill Belichick.

Still, we have to maintain some optimism here and look at potential games the Cardinals could win in 2023 - and that's exactly what we're going to do! So, here are five way-too-early winnable games for the Cardinals this upcoming season.

Week 1 @ Washington Commanders

The Commanders aren't a bad team, but they aren't a good team either. They're a team that is in purgatory while they search for their quarterback of the future. The team seems to believe that Sam Howell is their guy, but there's only one way to find out.

The Cardinals could capitalize on the young, inexperienced quarterback and prey on some slipups that are bound to happen. It's a road game, too, which for some reason is the only time the Cardinals win football games. This is certainly a tough test to start the year, but remember that Gannon is familiar with the Commanders. The Cardinals could start 2023 above .500.

Week 6 @ Los Angeles Rams

The Rams and Cardinals will be having a competition throughout the 2023 season for who is the worse team. The Rams were by all accounts horrible last year and while Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and Aaron Donald will be back and presumably healthy, the rest of the roster is a mess.

I have a feeling that this early in the season these teams may want to compete somewhat for the sake of competitiveness. These two teams both aren't good, however and while the Rams will be hoping to rebound, I will be holding my breath for now.

Week 10 vs Atlanta Falcons

Thanks to playing in the NFC South, the Falcons are actually going to be playoff contenders in 2023. But don't get it twisted, this is not a good team.

The defense leaves way too much to be desired and even though they have exciting and explosive weapons on deck, they have Desmond Ridder at quarterback. Unless Ridder proves to be all that and a bag of chips, the Falcons will fall short of their goals and the Cardinals could capitalize on another team failing to live up to expectations.

Week 12 vs Los Angeles Rams

Is it cheating to put the Rams on here twice? Maybe, but there are very, very few games that feel winnable for the Cardinals in 2023.

I mentioned earlier that their first matchup could see them trying, but it could be the opposite here if they both stink. This game could be played for draft positioning, but as I said previously, I won't buy the Rams rebounding until I see it with my own two eyes.

Week 16 @ Chicago Bears

Another team I am not convinced is the playoff contender many make them out to be, the Bears could have an explosive offense with Justin Fields throwing to D.J. Moore, but that is just about everything worthwhile on this Bears team.

By week 16 these teams could very well be in contention for the number one overall pick for the 2024 NFL Draft. Therefore, this could be another game of who stinks more. I believe that even if the Cardinals are bad, Gannon will have them competing every Sunday and this is truly a game I might take the team to win in 2023.

BONUS: Week 14 BYE WEEK

This will be a highly contested game, but the Cardinals should be able to topple the bye week as long as they maintain rhythm throughout the year. Still, the bye week won't be an easy matchup!
