How Each Cardinals QB Performed vs Broncos
The Arizona Cardinals beat the Denver Broncos 18-17 on a last-second touchdown and two-point conversion to begin the Jonathan Gannon era.
The Cardinals - still without Kyler Murray - are aiming to defy the odds in 2023 and surpass the low expectations placed on them by outsiders.
Until we see Murray back in action, the Cardinals will look to rely on one of four quarterbacks behind him on the depth chart.
Here's how they fared vs. Denver:
*Note, Jeff Driskel was not dressed*
Colt McCoy
Stats: 4 completions on 4 attempts for 17 yards, one rush for five yards. 72.3 PFF passing grade.
McCoy got the nod with the starters and has been considered the leader in the clubhouse until Murray is 100%. Though he played just one series, he looked the more calm and composed out of the three Cardinals quarterbacks.
So far, so good for McCoy.
Clayton Tune
Stats: 13 completions on 23 attempts for 135 yards for one touchdown and one interception. 60.7 PFF passing grade.
Tune very much looked like a fifth-round rookie when first thrown into action, missing a handful of throws any passer should make and overall looking unsettled for his first drive or two.
However, he eventually found his footing and displayed the pocket presence and athleticism he showed at the college level. Tune still needs to work on progressing through his reads, but one the nerves went away, Tune was able to bounce back.
David Blough
Stats: 8 completions on 14 attempts for 86 yards and one touchdown. 63.8 PFF passing grade.
Most will remember Blough's game-winning drive with under two minutes left, and rightfully so. Yet Blough also needed some time to shake the rust off and even nearly missed a wide open Brian Cobbs before seeing him on that last touchdown pass.
Still some work to do for the magician, but not a bad display overall.
