How Fun Will the Cardinals be in 2023?

The Arizona Cardinals could be a borderline fun team this upcoming season.
In this story:

The Arizona Cardinals won't be holding a Lombardi trophy anytime soon, but that won't stop loyal fans from flocking to State Farm Stadium and tuning in every week.

Their 4-13 football team seemingly got worse in the offseason and are undergoing a massive shift in change when it comes to not only their roster, but culture as well.

2024 could be a massive step in the right direction, but first 2023 will likely be a year of major learning and growing pains for the Cardinals.

That doesn't mean they won't be fun to watch - right?

In Mike Tanier's 'How Fun-to-Watch is Your Favorite Team" rankings, the Cardinals slid into the top 20 at No. 19:

"Sheer incompetence was one of the things that made the 2020s Cardinals so fascinating. It was always entertaining to tune it to watch Kliff Kingsbury order Kyler Murray to run the Itty Bitty Statue of Liberty play from a quads formation while five total strangers blocked for him on third-and-17 while trailing by two scores. (There was also the Cardinals defense: J.J. Watt, Budda Baker, nine linebacker-safety tweeners with no idea where to line up).

"Now that adults have retaken the organization, we’re left hoping that Murray is healthy enough for his career to have a second act, that DeAndre Hopkins lands with a contender before the trade deadline and that Jonathan Gannon has set fire to his Super Bowl defensive gameplan, then sunk the ashes out at sea."

The Cardinals can be a fairly fun team to watch, depending on how some things shake out of course.

The return of a healthy Kyler Murray (and an improved offensive line) should bring hope that more electric plays will be made out of the backfield. With weapons such as James Conner, DeAndre Hopkins and Marquise Brown among others, plays can be made on a weekly basis.

Defensively, the Cardinals have a few different players who can make noise. Budda Baker and Isaiah Simmons being the more prominent of that group.

Then - there's the batch of rookies fans can hopefully see some good things from. Garrett Williams and BJ Ojulari look to have ample opportunity to leave their mark.

Should a variety of those factors come together, the Cardinals can at least have the opportunity to play spoiler on a weekly basis if nothing else.

Fans know going into 2023 that expectations aren't super high, perhaps giving way for a more fun game day in terms of not setting themselves up for disappointment.
