Football season is finally here, and there's a sense of hope for 32 fanbases across the league as the new year begins.

The Arizona Cardinals aren't expected to win much - if at all - heading into the new era of desert football under head coach Jonathan Gannon. A handful of big names have departed the organization in what has been a massive roster overhaul by general manager Monti Ossenfort.

In Washington, the Commanders hope to make good on their talent and make a playoff push with newly promoted quarterback Sam Howell at the helm. Under new ownership, there's hope head coach Ron Rivera can push his troops in the right direction.

The Commanders will be without DE Chase Young on Sunday, according to The Athletic's Ben Standig. Young suffered a neck injury during preseason play and is now expected to miss multiple weeks.

Washington did receive good news on the injury front after WR Terry McLaurin was dropped from the injury report after dealing with a toe injury.

For the Cardinals, Marquise Brown and Zach Ertz are both questionable for Arizona. Kelvin Beachum was previously ruled out.
