Larry Fitzgerald Praises New Cardinals Regime
The Arizona Cardinals are up in Minnesota a bit early for their preseason finale against the Vikings on Saturday, as the teams have two scheduled joint practices with each other this week before Arizona puts a bow on preseason play.
Some familiar faces were in attendance: Former Cardinals LB Jordan Hicks and CB Byron Murphy were seen on social media greeting old Arizona teammates on Wednesday,
Perhaps the most notable name in attendance was Larry Fitzgerald, a Cardinals legend who was introduced to the league early on during his days as a ball boy for the Vikings.
He sent a message to Cardinals fans showing them some love:
Fitzgerald - who has unofficially been retired for years now - also caught up with Cardinals media who made the trip to Minnesota for the week.
"There is nothing in me that wants to be out there," Fitzgerald said via the team's official reporter Darren Urban. "But I can appreciate the quality and the skills that go into being out there.
"It's funny, this is kind of where I cut my teeth, at Vikings training camp as a ball boy, and obviously my love for the Cardinals is where it's at and where it's always going to be. To be out there and watching my two favorite teams do it is cool."
Fitzgerald also said he's a big fan of what the new Cardinals regime has done thus far.
"I've had a chance to meet both of them," Fitzgerald said. "I think (Ossenfort) is going to do a great job putting this thing together."
Most fans would certainly agree, especially after Ossenfort was able to assemble some strong cap space and net valuable draft capital in 2024. Though this season doesn't project so well, the future looks bright in Arizona - Larry Legend believes it himself.
