Market for Former Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins Heating Up

Former Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins has had a bit of trouble gaining traction on the open market.
That was the case prior to his release too, where teams simply couldn't justify trading for a receiver on the wrong side of 30 with $19.45 million in cash due for 2023.
Even as a free agent, teams have shown interest but things have played out slowly for the All-Pro pass catcher as he reportedly is in search of one last payday while still trying to land on a Super Bowl contender.
Many believe Hopkins won't be able to have his cake and eat it, too. Yet perhaps the first step towards finding a new team has been taken after Hopkins is reportedly visiting with the Tennessee Titans.
"DeAndre Hopkins is expected to make his first free agent visit early next week, he'll fly in Sunday and visit the Tennessee Titans. That is going to be on Monday, Mike Vrabel confirming earlier today," said NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
"There has been a lot of interest from contenders and truly some teams who have money to spend. You look at the profile of the Tennessee Titans, they fit exactly what DeAndre Hopkins is looking for. They got a quarterback who can play, they have a need, they have some money and they do seem to be a team looking for one final piece for maybe that playoff push.
"The interesting thing here is the timing. I wouldn't be surprised if DeAndre Hopkins - even with a really positive visit with the Tennessee Titans - doesn't sign until maybe the start of training camp."

Teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills - thanks to their current projections to again meet deep in the AFC playoffs - have shown interest but nothing has happened on either end.
The Cleveland Browns recently cleared significant cap space and quarterback Deshaun Watson (who previously played with Hopkins in Houston) has gone on record to say he'd love to have his former receiver.
Speaking of Houston, the Texans are another team thought to be in the mix. Hopkins spent the first parts of his career with the organization and a reunion could be tempting on both sides.
The Houston connections extend to the New England Patriots, where former head coach Bill O'Brien is now the offensive coordinator for the squad.
Plenty of opportunities are on the horizon, and Hopkins doesn't appear to be in a rush to make anything happen. However, his market could indeed be heating up.
